I have regular check-ups at a doctor I have been seeing for a couple years. I have never encountered any issues whatsoever.
Normally, I go every 3 months but this was a 6 month visit. I should also mention this facility is also an urgent care type location. Lastly, they welcome walk-ins with signs clearly indicating that patients with scheduled appointments take precedent.
My appointment was at 3:15pm. I arrive at 3, only to see “patients” lined up 4 deep. I didn’t get signed in until 3:15pm, and was not called back until 4pm as they kept taking back group after group of walk-ins.
Apparently this clinic has joined the reigns of medical providers that offer Suboxone – a drug that is used to treat people addicted to opiates. This is the real money maker for these clinics in my area.
That being said, I finally got back to a treatment room at 4:15pm to meet with my physician, who is normally very thorough and nice. This time, she was a totally different person. She had no concern my health, ranted about my boots, and almost refused to refill my maintenance medications. She was quite rude and unprofessional when I asked for a refill of a medication that we were testing – sad because it was rather helpful.
She then left the room and told me to go get blood drawn, which I promptly did.
Then as I was leaving, I was stopped and told I to pee in a cup, which I have never been asked to do. The staff told me it was to look for illicit and illegal drugs as well as look for kindey issues – with a WTF look on my face, I did it anyways.
So piss on them.
Clearly they now cater to meth/heroin/opiate addicts as there are Suboxone reminder posters plastered all over every wall.
But hey, whatever makes the money – right?
Anywho – Dr. Furman – YOU’RE FIRED!
